Nanopore sequencing

is a technique at which used in the sequencing of biopolymers, specifically polynucleotides in the form of DNA/RNA. In a nanopore sequence, a single molecule of DNA or RNA can be sequenced without the need of PCR amplification or chemical labelling of the sample needed. Nanopore devices can be used for metagenomics analysis of environmental samples for monitoring as it can be handheld and would be useful as a portable device for assessing infield.
